"Bridging the Gap" was developed in 2004 by the Glendale Fire Department to enable firefighters and paramedics to communicate with residents who have not yet learned to speak English fluently. "Bridging the Gap" is a tool that teaches Fire personnel how to speak basic "yes or no" questions or requests in Spanish, Armenian and Korean and how to understand the responses.
