Junior Fire Picnic 2008
Over 100 fifth-grade students attended the annual Jr Fire Picnic at Verdugo Park on June 6. They were the highest-scoring students from each of their schools during the Jr Fire Program, and many received prizes that had been donated for the event. Events included a hot dog lunch, sack races, water balloon tosses, and a brief squirt from a fire engine.
Fire Explorers Graduate
Congratulations to Class 20 of the Glendale Fire Explorers who graduated on June 7 at the Glendale Fire Training Center.
With record-low rainfall last winter and the high temperature/low humidity conditions typical of this time of year, fire danger remains unusually high.
